Jappeloup

Hello folks! I am writing after a break and I hope you enjoy this post. The movie is about Pierre Durand Jr.(Guillaume Canet), a lawyer who leaves his practice to devote his full time to show jumping, for which he had a passion since childhood.

He buys a horse in which he had no interest initially but later sensing potential, he goes ahead with the decision. The story then slowly expresses the beauty of the bond formed between the two. Like any other movie based on a sportsman, we know this one too is gonna end on a happy note (and this is not meant to be a spoiler :P ). What sets this one apart is the way in which the story unfolds. One can feel the impact of the film. He loses at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California, but wins at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea.

The movie gives many lessons but doesn't seem preachy at the same time. It inspires you to follow your dream, it motivates you to overcome your failures and the best part is, Pierre Durand, the protagonist's father is completely supportive of his decision to leave legal practice and enter the world of Show Jumping

Lou de Laâge played the role of  Raphaëlle Dalio, Jappeloup's groom. Raphaëlle seems to be good at her job since she is emotionally involved in her work and Jappeloup too has a rapport with her. For her performance, she was nominated for the Most Promising Actress award at the 39th César Awards.

I saw this movie with subtitles because my French doesn't go beyond Vive La France :P and I want to assure you guys that language barrier isn't felt even for a moment because emotions need no words (#satya_vachan).
